Today I will talk about the Glaucus Atlanticus which is also known as the Blue Glaucus or the Blue Dragon. The Blue Glaucus is a type of sea slug that lives in the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans in tropical areas, and I think that it is a very beautiful creature.

Not only is the Blue Glaucus beautiful but it also has a very interesting defense mechanism. Although the Blue Glaucus does not produce its own venom it is able to sting any predators that touch it. The Blue Glaucus’s favorite prey is the Portuguese Man o’ War and when they eat the Portuguese Man o’ War then it is able to consume stinging cells so that they can be used later to protect itself. So, you don want to touch it unless you want to get painfully stung.
Anyway, thank you for reading my blog posts.
